The TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 5 Day-Date is a perfect example of simple, pure designs that just work.  On the surface there’s nothing flashy or fancy about this watch. But it’s precisely this steadfast design and supreme versatility that makes this watch such a winner.

This is a new 41mm men's watch with a design that looks like a classic watch but with more modern subtleties. The watch itself is solidly built with a 12mm thick stainless steel case and an opaline black dial with a nice micro-textured sunray dial effect.

The watch really pops thanks to the contrast between the stylishly bevelled and brushed rose gold plated indexes, dark black dial, and the rose gold plated hour and minute hands which contain luminescent fill. In addition to being easier to read, the larger dial makes this a great watch for those with a larger wrist.

It is fitted to a stainless steel bracelet but it would look equality good swapped out onto a a black leather strap. The watch  feels comfortable and solid on the wrist, is handsome yet unobtrusive. It’s a perfect companion for daily life and powered the  reliable Calibre 5,  TAG Heuer’s in-house name for the 2824.
